Checking lines of fire and counting points in one picture

Someone measures lines of fire between cards with a string

Light Speed is a tabletop shooter by the board game legend James Ernest (Tak, Kill Dr. Lucky…). Players place spaceship cards in real time on the table. At the end of the game, they use a ruler or a string to determine the outcome of the shooting.

The game design is ingenious but measuring all lines of fire by hand takes very long. It actually takes longer than the game itself.

Easily solved, Tablescope got you covered!

Share a picture of the playing surface with the Tablescope bot on the free messaging app Telegram. It will do the rest
, visualizing the shooting and computing the scoring.

It will even generate the commentary of the battle!

Computer Vision for
TABLETOP PLAYERS

A single picture can measure distances, check lines of sight and allow unprecedented solo variants. And that’s just the beginning of the journey.

An UFO abducting a die

With a bit of computer vision we want to bring into play novel designs without turning the analog soul of a game into something different.

Kosmykes

Reclaiming the space of your table.
With cosmic mushrooms

The board of a tabletop games with geometric tiles laid on it

Kosmykes is an original design by Tablescope for 1-4 players, based on the concept of the playing surface as geometrical space.

Players place sporeship tiles on the board with the goal of colonizing planets.

Each spore cloud will expand by its own expansion factor. Smaller clouds are, well, small but win over bigger ones.

The twist? You do not get to see the expansion until the end of the game.

Exploit your geometrical perception!

Predict how spore clouds overlap or merge into secondary colours. Also, pay attention to the Pac-Man effect 😉

And then use a smartphone to take a single picture of the final state of the board. The companion app shows how the spore clouds expand, interact, and determine the final scoring.

A board game set in space in which some figures have been made larger via an augmented reality overlay

Kosmykes offers a spatial challange never seen before in a tabletop game, made even more unique by a groundbreaking solo or co-op puzzle variant.

Can you solve the level in the image by colonizing each planet with the spore cloud matching their colour?
